The Constant Gardener Soundtrack featuring Ayub Ogada

The soundtrack for this 2005 movie that was shot in Kenya received an average 4.5 star rating on Amazon.
The Constant Gardener

By Christine Koech

The highlights of this soundtrack (and I may be biased because I'm Kenyan) are Ayub Ogada's songs Kothbiro (Track 13) and Dicholo (Track 6). Kothbiro is actually composed by Mbarek Achieng and I must give him credit for such a magical composition but I think it is Ayub Ogada's voice that brings it to life.

Music Review: Kenyan Safari by Roger Whittaker

One thing you’ll observe when listening to this album that is in Swahili and English is how proud this man is about being born in Kenya as he praises the land and the outstanding wildlife the country has to offer.
Kenyan Safari by Roger Whittaker

Most of people interpret patriotic Kenyan music to dark skinned Kenyans but that doesn’t translate to this man.

Roger Whittaker’s voice can have you deceived for American sensation Kenny Rogers because of his deep voice and instrumentals in this CD.

A Kenyan born artiste, Kenyan Safari is a patriotic CD that will make most of its listeners very proud.

Video review: Todii (What Shall We Do) by Oliver Mtukudzi

Zimbabwean musician Oliver 'Tuku' Mtukudzi's tracks are always the kind you can play over and over again. This one is definitely one of them.

Zimbabwean musician Oliver 'Tuku' Mtukudzi's tracks are always the kind you can play over and over again. This one is definitely one of them.

Watching the video is an even better experience. It's unpretentious. Clean. And true to Tuku tradition, it's got a powerful message.

Video Review: Brand New Eyes by Lin

Artistic and creative, this new singer is set to go places.

In the video, singer Lin gives a refreshing new face to gospel and vernacular music videos. The music, to begin with, is a unique jazzy sound with deep, thoughtful lyrics.

The video's garden setting gives the video the light, happy feel which is important for the gospel music genre.

The clever videography brings out the colours in a very artistic way. It makes it a video that you want to actually watch and not just listen to.
